I found the no-show in a virtual pile of my family’s old i-cloud pre-downloaded files. This is a book with a lot of what I would refer to as soft twists. Surprises, but not that shocking. In fact I’m just going to spoil them. I promise it won’t ruin your reading experience if you do make the strange choice of purchasing this book. So: Three women’s perspectives, one chapter each, rotating one after the other. They all get stood up by a man (shock horror it’s the same man), who later gives some silly excuse as to why he didn’t make it. I mean it was fun to read. A bit long. Not fun enough to justify spending money on for sure. Although, I did like that this book at least attempted to stay somewhat realistic, and the women are slightly more complex than the two-dimensional caricatures I expected from this kind of book.

I also like that although there are three love interests, they each have their own love story with James (or whatever his name is, maybe Josh) in their own right. There are three happy endings.

Importantly, this was the first of my “guilty pleasure” reads. I have to say, having since started “Book Lovers” – reading this book didn’t make me feel nearly as guilty, and wasn’t that much of a pleasure to read in comparison. But I must thank the author. This book has started my new tradition of purchasing trash rom coms to read on my phone as a substitution for TikTok (which I have now deleted for 1 month, 2 weeks and counting). Speaking of which, I then read Book Lovers (you can see the review below).
